70th Anniversary of Korea War “Reading of the Texan Names”
November 6, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeWe will honor and remember the 1,779 Texans who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom by reading each name out loud in one evening.
We are requesting 56 participants; each participant will read 30 names.
The RCHS Choir, United in Harmony, will sing the National Anthem, a POW/MIA presentation will be made and Taps will be played by our very own Legionnaire Wayne Janosik.
Each person will receive a list of names by Nov 1 (W) so there is a chance to review & practice saying their names. We are not looking for perfection in pronunciation just do your best. You will not have to bring your list as it will be available at the podium. For those reading please check-in on the day of the event at 6:00pm or earlier; each person reading will have assigned seating. Once your list of names are read you are not required to stay for the duration of reading.
We encourage youth groups/students to read, must be atleast 10 yours old.
This event will be livestreamed via FB by NorthEast Texas Events.
